The fourth handset never gets used. The system worked fine for about a year then started going bad. We purchased this system in the summer of 2007. When this happens the base station flashes a "Welcome" message and appears to be rebooting. The primary complaint is the sometimes you will dial a call, hear the ringer sound one time and then the phone flashes "Out of Range" and goes dead. This has happened on three out of the four handsets, including the one on the base station when it was only 5 feet away from the base station. The handset stays in talk mode and you have to press the end call button and start again. Evidently the one ring you hear is not going through because I have questioned the folks I was calling and they never heard a ring.
The Uniden TRU9465-2 5.8 system is working out just GREAT.I had the second handset off of the base for 3 days before I noticed it lost (1) bar. My old 2 - Line phone system would not hold a charge. I'd miss calls because when I picked up the phone, even if it indicated bars on the handset, it would just "die" on the spot. I accidentally dropped the handset and the battery panel flew off but nothing was broken. I have had this phone for over a year now and after its initial charge the phones have always worked perfectly. I love Uniden and their products. I had had it for years and every new one I tried had bad sound quality and interferenc. I have the main base on my desk and the extra handset by my bed. The speed dial is so easy to install and use.I praise everything about this sleek, attractive, user friendly telephone set. Until this awesome purchase.
if I am on the phone and get a call it will also show that number. When my last phone went dead a year ago I was devestated. I keep them in the bases when not in use of course.I have caller id thru my phone company and it displays perfectly on the base and handset. This phone has everything and is everything I need. The 5.8 GHz technology provides excellent sound quality all the time. The handsets are perfectly shaped and fit my ear and mouth perfectly.
Uniden is the best and purchase this phone for the highest quality and zero problems.Highly recommend.
I especially like the feature that allows you to copy numbers in the "phone book" from one phone to the next with just a touch of a button. I have had no problems with this phone so far. I have had it 3 or 4 weeks. Though this phone is fairly simple. I probably will buy another hand set, a third phone, later.
i wish i could give it no stars- straight out of the box it was charged for 15 hours as required, and after that, we can't use it. it keeps saying "out of range" and it does NOT have an answering machine.shouldn't a phone this expensive have a decent range AND an answering machine.we're returning it right now.
